This webinar will focus on the challenges associated to training new CDMs virtually, as a result of the recent pandemic.
Our line of work is complicated enough when teaching face to face, and we have discovered training is even harder when doing it virtually. We had to come up with new ways of teaching, innovating actions and programs to help instruct new talents not only in the technical skills needed for this job, but also in the soft skills that are necessary to foster a collaborative team.
"If we don’t have a strong foundation, even the greatest structure can come crumbling down", says Cecilia Calcagno who will share the different approaches to this situation during the webinar. So, as important as the quality and design of our protocols and process to carry them out are, it is equally or more important to train the new CDMs. Cecilia will share the DO’s and DON’Ts from her experience while embarking on an educational project during virtual time and how you can help others to think before hand what is the best plan for them.

Cecilia Calcagno
Lead Clinical Data Manager, Merck
Cecilia Calcagno is based in Zürich where her primary responsibility is to perform CDM Training for our MSD Switzerland team. Cecilia background includes 5 years as a study coordinator and IRB assistant roles. She joined MSD Argentina in Dec 2019 but previously worked for the company through a CRO, as a member of a team of dedicated DM staff working directly for MSD, Cecilia is extremely proud that I have also been selected as a speaker at the SCDM Annual Conference for the last 4 years.
