The SCDM Learning hub offers a collection of live and on-demand Online Courses and Webinars as well as inspiring presentations from our conferences around the world. Whether you are at the beginning of your career in Clinical Data Management or already an expert in the field, you can take advantage of the full range of educational opportunities at SCDM to complement your professional development.
A Certified Clinical Data Associate (CCDA) is a clinical data management professional with less than 2 years of experience in clinical data management who has demonstrated competency through passing the CCDA exam. Professionals in positions at this level would be performing data management tasks under the direction of a more experienced clinical data manager (CDM). Professionals at the CCDA level would be working to develop CCDM-level competency through performing supervised work across the CCDA competencies. These generally involve supporting but not leading data management for studies by undertaking complex data processing tasks such as data collecting, cleaning, and integration; testing information systems used to manage clinical study data; and maintaining data management documentation.
SCDM is currently developing the CCDA exam and related educational content. Stay tuned for more information on education programs at this level.
Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM)
A Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) is a Clinical Data Manager (CDM) with more than 3 years of experience in clinical data management who has demonstrated competency through passing the CCDM exam. CCDM competencies span the breadth of professional practice, i.e., data management role-specific competencies, at the level of designing and leading the management of data for clinical studies. Explore the SCDM Learning Hub for education programs at this level that will assist you in preparing for the CCDM ® Certification Exam.
Certified Clinical Data Scientist (CCDS)
A Certified Clinical Data Scientist (CCDS) is a Data Scientist with specialized experience or training in the management of data for clinical studies who has demonstrated competency through passing the CCDS exam. CDS competencies apply advanced computational methods to uncover new information, identify trends, and to develop and apply simulations and predictive models to clinical studies to protect human subjects and manage studies. Thus, knowledge of clinical research methods and regulations are critical. Clinical Data Scientists generate new knowledge from data. Clinical Data Science often leverages regressive methods, data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, predictive modelling, data visualization, and system dynamics, discrete-events and agent-based simulation and often involve high volume, high dimensional data.
