In this session we will review what is clinical data management and what careers are available to you as a clinical data professional. We will define what is included within the umbrella of SCDM including highlights of critical assets like GCDMP, JSCDM, Clinical Data Science Publications, Certifications (CCDA, CCDM and CCDS) as well as online education and upcoming conferences. We will review the benefits of a SCDM membership and volunteer opportunities as well.

Participants will learn the value of joining the SCDM community for initial and ongoing learning as well as networking in their career as a clinical data professional.

This webinar will provide a chance to start your journey as a clinical data professional by highlighting key resources, upcoming educational, volunteer and networking opportunities and giving you direct access to SCDM board members to ask direct questions of interest to you.

Meet the Speaker

Arshad Mohammed
Head of Global Data Management, GSK
2023 SCDM Chair
Arshad Mohammed is the Head of Global Data Management at GSK. He is a physician by training and brings over 20 years’ experience in the health sciences industry. Prior to the current role, Arshad has held a variety of roles in life sciences consulting, software product management, clinical data management, business development and electronic clinical outcomes assessments (eCOA). He has managed clinical data management teams across all phases of clinical development including early development, late phase as well as studies in the observational space. He is the 2023 Chair of the ‘Society for Clinical Data Management’. Arshad is an alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Mr. Rostami has 26 years of experience in the field of clinical data operations, clinical informatics, quality management, risk management, and regulatory compliance. He has received Biomedical Engineering and MBA degrees from Duke University. He is also certified as a Clinical Data Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Management, Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, and Regulatory Affairs. Mr. Rostami has been speaker and session chair in conferences (SCM, DIA, SCT, CHI, ACS, PEA, TRI, ISGCRT, JSCTR) in US, Canada, Europe, and Japan in the past two decades.
Richard Ittenbach

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center

Richard Ittenbach, PhD, is a Professor of Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is an accredited statistician through the ASA and has been actively involved in clinical data management for more than 15 years.

He has served as a consultant to academe and industry, as well as a data management content area expert for the U.S. Department of Labor. Areas of research interest include data safety monitoring boards, mixed methods study designs, as well as the development and refinement of pediatric measures for children with chronic and life-threatening conditions.
